Passover Celebration

Come and explore our Jewish roots by joining us for a Passover celebration, complete with traditional prayers, hymns, and foods – led by individuals well-versed in Jewish practices and traditions. See details below to register for the event on the evening of Saturday, April 12th

Pope Saint John Paul II informs us,

“The Church of Christ discovers her bond with Judaism by searching into her own mystery. The Jewish religion is not extrinsic to us, but in a certain way is intrinsic to our own religion. With Judaism, therefore we have a relationship that we do not have with any other religion. You (the Jewish People) are clearly beloved brothers, and, in a certain way, it could be said you are our elder brothers.” (1986, Speech at The Synagogue of the City of Rome)

When? Saturday, April 12, 6:00-8:30 PM, Holy Family Parish Hall

What? The Passover was the pivotal event that enabled the Exodus freeing God’s chosen people from over 400 years of slavery in Egypt. We will come together in the fashion of a Jewish family to sing the songs, recite the prayers and experience the traditions of this ancient Jewish feast as Jesus did every year.

Why? Our easter celebration is closely tied to the Passover as Jesus Christ himself celebrated his last Seder with his Apostles the night he was arrested. Where Passover focused on deliverance from physical slavery, our Easter celebration (and every celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass) is focused on our liberation from sin and spiritual death.

Come closer to Jesus by sharing in the tradition he himself participated his entire life and used to establish the new and eternal covenant on the night of the Last Supper!

Seating is limited so don’t wait to reserve your space!
